“Galileo noted, ‘You cannot teach humans anything. You can only help them discover it within themselves.’ If you accept that premise, and I do, coaching becomes the key to personal discovery. Exceptional ‘teachers’ encourage and lead leaders to search for their own knowledge and understanding. It is through this coaching process that each of us can reveal our own answers–I’ve had many ‘ah-ha’ moments as a result of these leadership coaching opportunities.”

Leadership Coaching

The roster for coaching is currently full. If you are interested in participating, please email  to be added to the wait list for the next round in March.

The Leadership Coaching program is designed in response to the expressed need for senior leaders to have a stronger professional support network and means of developing their own leadership. Based on the growing national movement to enhance the benefit leaders in the nonprofit sector get from professional coaching, the program offered by Nonprofit Learning Point includes both leadership coaching groups as well as individual coaching opportunities.

The International Coaching Federation defines coaching as “partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential.” Leadershipcoaching, more specifically, focuses on enhancing the effectiveness of a leader in his or her organization. It is a customized strategy that focuses on building individual leadership capacity. Leaders may choose to focus on strengthening their vision and strategic thinking skills, clarifying goals for their organization, building commitment, enhancing team performance, enhancing relationships or other developmental goals of the leader’s choosing.

While there is a fee to participants for the leadership coaching, costs are subsidized by the PNE and the coaches agree to provide nonprofit rates for their services. Please contact us for current offerings in the leadership coaching area. Updates regarding current coaching opportunities are also sent out via ConnectRichmond listserve.
