John’s unique career spans two decades of work in journalism, strategic communications, organizational planning and leadership development.
Today, John is the owner of Floricane. He is also the award-winning publisher of several local weblogs — including the community-focused Buttermilk & Molasses.
John has worked for Circuit City, Virginia Commonwealth University and the Richmond Times-Dispatch. John most-recently completed a 12-year stint at Richmond-based Luck Stone Corporation where he helped to shape and deliver multiple business strategies. He designed and facilitated hundreds of business-specific and culture-shaping sessions engaging hundreds of employees throughout the organization.
John received his Nontraditional Studies degree from VCU in the early 1990s, and completed studies in organizational development at Georgetown University in 2005.
