Reynolds, Dena, M.S.

Dena Reynolds, M.S. is a Public Relations Consultant for Richmond area nonprofits, helping agencies increase their awareness with media coverage and community relations.  She helps nonprofits obtain news coverage with compelling storytelling and develops strategic plans to improve external and internal communication.

Prior to consulting, Reynolds was LifeNet Health’s Media Relations Manager for ten years and won numerous awards in media relations, event planning and marketing.  She served as the spokeswoman for LifeNet Health and encouraged media outlets, including The History Channel, National Geographic Channel, and CNN to produce stories on organ donation.  She landed more than 500 media stories for LifeNet Health and worked with reporters across Virginia on a daily basis. In 2010, she was awarded “Best in Show” at the Virginia Public Relations Awards.

Prior to LifeNet Health, Reynolds worked at WRIC TV8 as Promotion Manager. During her time at TV8, she won a National PROMAX award for producing and was nominated for three regional Emmy awards for writing and producing. Before her move to Richmond, she worked at WHSV TV3 in Harrisonburg, Va., and at NBC29 in Charlottesville, Va.

Reynolds holds a Master of Science in Multimedia Journalism from Virginia Commonwealth University where she is an Adjunct Faculty member, and holds a Bachelor of Science in Mass Communicaitons from James Madison University. Reynolds is a 2010 graduate of the Emerging Nonprofit Leaders program.  She earned VCU’s Certificate of Achievement in Nonprofit Management, University of Richmond’s Institute on Philanthropy Certificate in Fundraising and Development, and UVA’s Certificate in Meeting and Event Planning.

She is a Hands On Greater Richmond volunteer and an advisory board member for Henrico CASA.
