Penn, Marcia, Ph.D.
Marcia C. Penn, Ph.D. is an internationally recognized consultant, facilitator and trainer in the field of nonprofit studies, with an emphasis in governance and management. Her clients include corporations, foundations, and international, national, state and local nonprofit organizations such as Occidental International Corporation, Pan American Development Foundation, New York Foundation for the Arts, International Federation for University Women, National Fair Housing Alliance, Penn State Alumni Association, American Ballet Theatre, Museum of African Art (NYC), and the Santa Fe Opera.
Penn has a long history of work, dediation and involvement with many Virginia nonprofit organizations including Virginia Health Care Foundation, Community Foundation of Richmond, Fan Free Clinic, Housing Opportunities Made Equal, Greater Richmond Retail Merchants Association, and the YWCA of Richmond. She is also am adjunct professor at Virginia Commonwealth University in the Wilder School of Government and Public Affairs, Public Administration Graduate School with a concentration in Nonprofit Studies. She received her Ph.D. at VCU with a dissertation titled Effective Boards of Directors of Nonprofit Organizations.
