Innovation and the Nonprofit Sector
December 12, 2011
Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond, Richmond, Va
Nonprofit leaders are invited to attend an interactive workshop featuring Dr. Roop Mahajan, Director of Virginia Tech’s Institute for Critical Technology and Applied Science (ICTAS). Dr. Mahajan is an award-winning innovator who leads teams of engineers and scientists in pursuit of new technologies. How does scientific innovation relate to the nonprofit sector? Come and learn about the Black Swan concept and other thought-provoking ideas being used by top academics. Alan Hutson of The Monument Group will bridge the gap between scientists and nonprofits and work with the audience to explore how Dr. Mahajan’s work can be applied in our community.
2011 15th Annual Conference with Nancy Lublin
Nonprofits are always doing more with less – we are creative, we are innovative, and we are resourceful! (because we have to be).
While we may be envious of big business budgets, corporations are now looking to us to harness , what Nancy Lublin calls, “the power of zero”. Nancy will invigorate us with innovative examples of nonprofits and businesses working together to do more with less across the country.

2009 13th Annual Conference with Keynote Speaker Robert Egger
This conference focused on the theme of advocacy. Our keynote posited that nonprofit professionals are the closest to “the people.” Hence, our voices need to be elevated in policy making and government decision making – especially during elections.
Learn just how powerful you really are…as an individual, as an agency and as a sector.
